Energy Bill Relief Program for Embedded Network Households
The Commonwealth Government is partnering with State Governments to provide Energy Bill Relief (EBR) to eligible households through a once-off payment, with the state specific process being decided by the State Government. However, depending on your Embedded Network Operator and State, how and when you receive this relief may change.
Please refer to the section for your State to see the Energy Bill Relief program process.
Victoria
Victorian customers will apply through the Victorian Energy Compare website. Please see our article here outlining the full process for Victorian customers.
For any issues, please call Vic Energy Compare helpline on 1800 000 832, specifying that you are part of an Embedded Network operator that is not listed in the Retailer field.
New South Wales
New South Wales customers will need to assess their eligibility to understand application of the EBR for their household or small business.
Household customers who are eligible for one of the following rebates, do not need to apply for the Bill Relief payment as your eligibility will be automatically assessed to receive your EBR payment. If you are not eligilbe for one of the below rebates, you will be able to APPLY ONLINE HERE, through an online form on the Services NSW website once available.
- NSW Low Income Household Rebate
- NSW Family Energy Rebate
- NSW Medical Energy Rebate
- NSW Life Support Rebate
Energy On Small Business customers do not need to apply and will automatically received the EBR payment.
For the customers applying manually, the application process will need your bank details and a PDF copy of an invoice we have sent you, which Services NSW will use to confirm your eligibility.

South Australia
South Australian customers can find information for the Energy Bill Relief credit on the Concession section of the South Australian Government Website. Please check the website for further details. Energy On Small Business customers in SA will not need to apply.

Queensland
Queensland customers can find information for the Energy Bill Relief Credit on the Department of Child Safety, Seniors and Disability Services website. Please check the website for further details, which will outline you are unlikely to need to apply, with Energy On completing this application on your behalf.

Tasmania
Tasmanian residential customers will apply through the ReCFIT website. The process is slightly different however: Tasmanian customers will use the same form for two separate rebates, called the Supercharged Renewable Energy Dividend (SRED) (State Government) and the Energy Bill Relief Extension. Please click the link in the “Energy Bill Relief Extension” section of the table on the linked webpage or navigate HERE.
If you received the Energy Bill Relief for 2024-2025, you will have received a Confirmation form for the SRED. If you have filled out that form, and submitted it, you will automatically be assessed for the Energy Bill Relief Extension
Once you have filled out the physical form, follow the instructions at the bottom of the form to send it to the Department of State Growth.
