How can I claim the Commonwealth Government Energy Bill Relief Credit?

Energy Bill Relief Program for Embedded Network Households

The Commonwealth Government is partnering with State Governments to provide Energy Bill Relief to eligible households through aonce-off payment, with the state specific process being decided by the State Government. However, depending on your Embedded Network Operator and State, how and when you receive this relief may change.

Please refer to the section for your State to see the Energy Bill Relief program process.

Victoria

Victorian customers will apply through the Victorian Energy Compare website. Please see our article here outlining the full process for Victorian customers.

For any issues, please call Vic Energy Compare helpline on 1800 000 832, specifying that you are part of an Embedded Network operator that is not listed in the Retailer field.

New South Wales

New South Wales customers will apply through an online form on the Services NSW website. If your household receives one of the following rebates, you do not need to apply for the Bill Relief payment as your eligibility will be automatically assessed:

  • NSW Low Income Household Rebate
  • NSW Family Energy Rebate
  • NSW Medical Energy Rebate
  • NSW Life Support Rebate

For the customers applying manually, the application process will need your bank details and a PDF copy of an invoice we have sent you, which Services NSW will use to confirm your eligibility. Energy On Small Business customers in NSW will not need to apply.

For any issues, call Services NSW Helpline 13 77 88 for help and specify you need assistance with the National Energy Bill Relief for Embedded Networks.

South Australia

South Australian customers can find information for the Energy Bill Relief credit on the Concession section of the South Australian Government Website. Please check the website for further details. Energy On Small MBusiness customers in SA will not need to apply.

For any issues, call Concessions SA Gov Helpline 1800 307 758 for help and specify you need assistance with the Energy Bill Relief Fund for Embedded Networks.

Queensland

Queensland customers can find information for the Energy Bill Relief Credit on the Department of Child Safety, Seniors and Disability Services website. Please check the website for further details.

For any issues, call Queensland Government Helpline 13 74 68 for help and specify you need assistance with the Energy Bill Relief Fund Extension for Embedded Networks.

Tasmania

Tasmanian customers will apply through the ReCFIT website. The process is slightly different however: Tasmanian customers will use the same form for two separate rebates, called the Supercharged Renewable Energy Dividend (SRED) (State Government) and the Energy Bill Relief Extension. Please click the link in the “Energy Bill Relief Extension” section of the table on the linked webpage.

If you received the Energy Bill Relief for 2023-2024, you will have received a form for the SRED. If you have filled out that form, and submitted it, you will automatically be assessed for the Energy Bill Relief Extension

Once you have filled out the physical form, follow the instructions at the bottom of the form to send it to the Department of State Growth.

For any issues, call ReCFIT Helpline 1800 062 864 for help and specify you need assistance with the Energy Bill Relief Extension for Embedded Networks. You can also email energybillrelief@recfit.tas.gov.au
