Concessions Explained

To help support Australians, the government releases a variety of different of support programs, known as concessions (or rebates). Each year, there are a few different concessions designed to help people pay their energy bills. If you hold a concession card (which you may be eligible for due to income, age, disability or veteran status) with your local state government, you may be eligible for a concession on your energy bills. How this works will vary depending on your location and concession. Sometimes, concessions don’t require a concession card, so remember to check the eligibility requirements if you’re unsure if you can apply for the discount.

Applying for concessions differs depending on the concession itself. Typically, embedded network customers like those at Energy On need to manually apply for these. If you ever are struggling with this process, you are welcome to contact Energy On’s Customer Service Team for assistance.

As an example of this process, some Victorian customers may be entitled to a Non-Mains Energy Concession. If you are a concession holder who relies on LPG, firewood, alternative fuel and/or non-mains metered electricity (an Embedded Network) for domestic heating, cooking and hot water, you can apply using the information here.

We have an article that outlines a wide variety of concessions available to embedded network customers in Australia: we recommend that you pay a visit to it here.
